The Great Books Discussion Group has been going strong for fourteen years with Elizabeth as discussion leader. "Most of the participants have been with the group from the beginning, but each year one or two new participants joins us and adds new zest to the discussions," she said.

Elizabeth and her late husband, Bill Aiello, arrived in Los Alamos in late August, 1949. They raised their son, Bob, and daughter, Beverly, in Los Alamos.

Twice honored as one of the Outstanding Women of New Mexico for her contributions to the Women in Science Reentry Program, Elizabeth was the first recipient of the New Mexico American Association of University Women's Grace Barker Wilson Award for contributing to the success of reentry women. In 1983 an AAUW scholarship was named for Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is vice president of the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization, editor/publisher of the Los Alamos retiree group's publication, The Main Gate, and secretary of Friends of the Senior Center.

Additional biographical material can be found in the Los Alamos Monitor of September 14, 2003.
