Living Treasures of Los Alamos
Foster and Alice Evans
Alive and Foster Evans

Foster Evans came to the Hill in 1946 and joined the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory's Theoretical Physics Division. Alice Evans came to Los Alamos to teach first grade in 1950. She taught school until she retired in 1978.

The first and only Democrat ever to be elected to the New Mexico State House of Representatives since Los Alamos became a county, Foster served two terms in the 1960's.

They have both participated in local and regional theatre and created the Don Juan Theatre on San Ildefonso Pueblo land. Both have served on a variety of community boards and organizations.

Married in 1978, their love of theatre and one another serves as an inspiration to us all.

Additional biographical material can be found in the Los Alamos Monitor of April 8, 1999.
