Living Treasures of Los Alamos

Jim Little's involvement with prison ministry began a decade ago. Jim is a member of Kairos, an interdenominational prison ministry and he said, "when you see grown men crying because somebody cares about them, it gets you in the heart."

Jim married Gail Warren on Sept. 2, 1956. Jim and Gail moved to Los Alamos with their three daughters, Brenda, Cindy, and Nancy in 1967; soon after he started an adult Sunday School class at First United Methodist and has continued to coordinate an adult class for nearly 40 years.

Self Help, Inc. has benefited from Jim's service as a board member and program supporter for several decades. Jim and fellow Living Treasure Aaron Goldman collect food from Smith's Grocery Store and deliver it to the Northern New Mexico Crisis Center in Espanola on Thursdays.

An ex officio member of the Los Alamos Family Council board, Jim joined the board in 1999 and served six years, two of which were as secretary. A driver for the Lions Club HELP program, Jim has also driven vans for the Betty Ehart Senior Center.
