Jeanne Stein was in a hurry to get to Los Alamos in 1948. Her first baby was due and she was told
she either had to arrive with her husband or wait until after Karla was born. Jeanne and Edgar have
now been married fifty-six years and they raised their three children, Karla, Karen and Erik on the
Hill.
Jeanne's interest in theater began in high school but it was years later before she found time to
pursue "the love of my life." Acting and directing for the Los Alamos Little Theater, Jeanne
attained regional and national renown.
Jeanne's distinctive voice is heard by visitors to the Bradbury Science Museum, where she recorded
voiceovers for several exhibits. She organized the Museum’s Science Theater, has judged school
speech contests and volunteered her enunciation skills, pronouncing words at local spelling
bees.
Additional biographical material can be found in the Los Alamos Monitor of April 22, 2001.
