Nina Marsh arrived in Los Alamos in the winter of 1953-54, and her first recollections are of
mud. "We had a lot," she said. Nina, who plays piano and organ, and her husband, Stan,
well-known for his singing voice, raised their five children in Los Alamos, instilling in them
a love of music.
Although it wasn’t common practice for nurses to work part-time in the early 1950s, Nina's
desire to contribute to her profession while raising her family was not to be denied. "I worked
as a nurse part-time for fifty years," she said proudly.
Nina has served on the boards of the Heart Council, Family Council, and Los Alamos Visiting
Nurses. She has been involved in the annual Health Fair since its inception and has offered
endless encouragement to patients attending cardiac rehabilitation.
Additional biographical material can be found in the Los Alamos Monitor of September 10, 2000.
