Living Treasures of Los Alamos
William E. Deal, Jr.
William E. Deal, Jr.

Bill Deal is a bright, energetic, inquisitive and charming man who has channeled much of that force into contributions that have built and enhanced Los Alamos County. Bill and his wife Mary arrived in Los Alamos in 1950 when he joined GMX Division. Over time he served as Group Leader, Associate Division Leader, Division Leader and Deputy Associate Director. He also worked with Mary Deal Realty and was a leader in developing new housing for the young community. After the local movie theater closed in 2002, Bill and his daughters realized they could build and replace that much needed entertainment venue on vacant property they owned. Despite challenges and bureaucratic obstacles, Bill persisted and the Reel Deal Theater opened just before Christmas 2003. Bill believes in living 'til you die and takes great pride and comfort in his family, his own cooking, his wine and his Jaguars.
